Aged just 16, Seb and Dom decided to get a dedicated server for their own hobby sites. The sites they ran weren't particularly impressive: a small Invision Board forum and a fantasy fan site they'd painstakingly built in Microsoft FrontPage.
Still, to Seb and Dom at least, these were the most important websites in the world. They knew that for these websites to become a success, they'd have to be fast. And they'd always need to be up and running online when someone tried to visit them.
But with their pocket money struggling to cover the cost of their server, they needed to make some extra cash to keep it going. So, they started selling hosting to others, with the same focus on uptime and speed they wanted for their own websites.
To help their customers succeed too (and being geeky teenagers), they offered hands-on technical support to anyone who needed it. Through online connections, forums and customer referrals, Seb and Dom gradually started to make names for themselves. As the popularity of their hosting service grew, Vidahost was born.
