SSH Access

We can provide SSH access to your hosting account.

SSH access is included free on our advanced package, and can be enabled for £10£11.75/year on any of our other packages.

Secure Shell Access lets you administer your hosting account from the command line - it is intended for advanced users only.

For security reasons please contact us after ordering to enable shell access.

If you require full root shell access, why not take a look at one of our virtual dedicated servers.

How does SSH work?

You can use a program such as putty for the pc, or terminal for the mac, to connect to your account. You login with the same username and password as for your cPanel account.

Example Commands:

Zip/Unzip: Compress or Uncompress files
cp: Copy files
aspell: Check spelling
awk: Find and replace
crontab: Schedule a task
vi: Text editor
