Manual cPanel Backups

Manually backup your files to your hard drive or to an FTP location

There are two types of backups you can take using Cpanel. One a partial backup and the other a full backup. In both you can download the backup to a location of choice on you computer.

 

To Download or Generate web site Full Backup

  1. Open CPanel and Login to your account.

  2. From the CPanel home page select the Backups link or icon in the Files panel.

  1. The Backups page opens and displays options to take backup in two ways, either Full Backup or partial back up.

  2. Click on Download or Generate Full website Backup for saving your entire site's content.

  3. A new page opens. Select your Destination folder from the drop down list, where you want to download your backup.

  4. Enter the email id address related to the backup data in the appropriate field.

  5. If you are using remote system for accessing the server, enter the remote server name, user name, password, port number and the directory name in specified text boxes.

  6. Click on Generate Backup to download the data into your specified directory.

 

  1. For partial backup, click on Download or Generate Partial website backup. An option for saving a specified or portion of your website data is provided.

  2. A new page opens as displayed in the following figure.  

 

  1. To download and save data such as database data or email forwarders or filters data you must click on the associated fields to download data from your website.

  2. In the same way if you want to restore your data from your home directory to your website, enter the home directory path or click on Browse to locate your home directory and click on the Upload button.

  3. At any state if you want to go back to your Cpanel home page click on the Cpanel home page link available on your left side of your web page.
