MySQL is the leading open-source database management system, used by a large range of popular online scripts. Virtually all scripts such as forums, eCommerce shops and blogs will use a MySQL database.
We provide MySQL 5.0 databases with all hosting accounts. Beware of hosts who charge for this basic feature!

PHPMyAdmin is an excellent open-source tool for navigating and working on your databases and tables, which we provide as standard with all hosting accounts. It is a feature-packed facility which lets you design, create and edit tables, and run any SQL query. You can see an example of how to create a MySQL database table here.
You can also watch one of the following video tutorials to give you an idea of how straightforward PHPMyAdmin is:
Databases: Import, Export, Search or Query.
Tables: Create, Copy, Delete or Rename.
Fields: Insert, Modify or Delete.
If you wish, you can manage your databases using external software remotely too - read more here or simply add your IP to the Remote MySQL section in cPanel.
