Guidelines for hosting adult websites with Vidahost

As long as your website content is legal under British and International law, we are more than happy to host it. We don't believe that it is our place to make that discrimination, and our staff are young and not offended by much!

However, if you are planning to run an adult site on Shared Hosting, or you are hosting content that could be deemed offensive (any thing from an escort site upwards) it is imperative that you let us know. For the benefit of non-adult sites we will not host you on the same IP address and/or server as non-adult sites, as a reverse IP lookup can be done, and this could *possibly* detract from search-engine rankings. In almost all cases, this will not incur an additional charge.

To clarify - we support all websites provide they are legal, but request that you let us know if you want to run a website with content that might possibly be construed as offensive so that we can seperate you - you still receive the same high-specification UK servers and our highly-regarded support.

In more general terms, our position on legality is as follows: if we become aware that we host illegal content and are sure of the illegality, we will suspend/terminate the website and let you know. It is usually fairly obvious when a website is illegal - the vast majority are phishing sites. In more complex cases - for example we sometimes also receive take-down notices from solicitors, which concern copyright infringements - we will forward the details to you, the site owner and not take action ourselves.
